Thursday, July 03, 2008 10:56 PM .: THE BEST IS YET TO BE :. I was so burnt out yesterday I actually succumbed AND surrendered to the Z-monster instead of meeting the boyfriend for dinner even though he offered to drive by and pick me up. Yes, I was THAT tired, cos' I woke up at 5.30am and stayed in school till 2.30pm, then left school and accompanied my CTs to shop for clothes meant for Racial Harmony, afterwhich we headed to a dance studio in town and danced for 1.5hours, nonstop. With all that workout and limited rest time, yours truly then proceeded for a 3 hour tuition at Bedok and finally got home around 10.30pm. This morning, we were in the hall teaching the boys those dance steps we mastered yesterday. All these, done in the name of breaking records. And if you don't already know, ACS was on the 'Records Challenge' (Channel 8) a couple of days ago and they emerged as the winner. Now, they're faced with a new challenge - to break the record of (if i'm not wrong) 500 students doing a multiracial dance for 50 minutes nonstop. Meaning, we need to have more people than the previous team and most importantly, strive to sustain a time of at least 51 minutes of dancing nonstop, with not only Absolute synchronization and coordination but also No mistakes or hiccups during the dance. Dig that! Gonna teach the boys part 3 and 4 of the dance steps tomorrow. This is gonna be so fun and exciting. It's such a pleasure to be part of them. I really am falling in love with the school every passing day. My CT's been such a sport and I've never ever thought that I'd develop such a bond with her and a few other teachers in such a short period of time. They are so awesome and fun-loving, it almost slipped my mind that I was out with my supervisors! At this rate, I'm definitely gonna be so upset when I leave the school! Boo. Aite aite, unhappy things aside. Let me showcase my lil' ![]() ![]() Gotta be my favourite group of boys. Guess who's my favourite student here? ![]() These boys are pretty well-behaved most of the time, but never doubt their ability to be mischievous. ![]() I call them the crazy group. We've got the dimple boy, slow coach, complain king, cool boy and also the irresistible boy-next-door a.k.a my new addition to favourites. Guess who? ![]() These boys are totally playful and amusing. They do all sorts of funny and weird things and never once realise that I'm staring at them. LOLS. ![]() ![]() This is the love-and-hate group cos' they drive me bonkas most of the time, but they can be ultimately sweet too! ![]() Last but not the least, this is the group who's smacked right in the middle of the class but I've yet to remember all the names of the boys in this group. Uh oh. I look forward to stepping into their class everyday and they've been my constant dosage of smiles, laughter and joy. Sigh, I'm definitely gonna take decent photos with them during the last week! Alrighty, gonna be a good girl and clear my lesson plans tonight so I can spend more time with the boyfriend over the weekends. Talk about that, I've totally no idea where the boyfriend might be now, probably still in dreamland. Oh wells. Shall go and have some cornflakey dinner/supper before doing my work. I so love my new specs! Thank you HubbeeTubbee! =) Oh, did I forget to mention that the boyfriend is getting his soon? Couple specs for him&her! - P/S: biAtch's birthday dinner was simple but very fulfilling. Will post a decent entry together with all the pictures as soon as she gets them uploaded. Laters! | Sunday, June 29, 2008 2:21 PM .: MY FIRST WEEK :. So it's been a week in school, and if you'd ask me, I certainly am extremely fortunate to be posted to where I am. Not only have I very encouraging and helpful CTs (coordinating teachers a.k.a supervisors), always willing to lend a helping hand and go the extra mile, amiable colleagues (including my fellow NIE trainee who has developed a work-at-the-same-pace and not-spoiling-market system with me, for that I'm thankful), a very spacious workstation with a conducive environment, and most importantly, an extremely flexible and versatile culture which works perfect for me. The kids are starting to get used to me and my presence and I really love the idea that they're gradually acknowledging me as a teacher and opening up to me. Being a nocturnal animal with a wrecked bio-clock, this is perhaps the first time I actually enjoy waking up to sunrise and greeting every single day with much joy and anticipation. Despite all the weariness, considering the fact that I won't be home till 11pm daily due to tuition commitments, I am indeed enjoying the life of a teacher to its brim. Nevermind the less than 5 hour sleep everyday, cos' the sight of my students and dosages of their cheekiness have proven to be the ultimate remedy in chasing my blues away. Likewise, the boyfriend has been very supportive throughout the week. Picking me up from tuition and driving me home, sending dinner right to my doorstep when I missed mine - all these at the expense of his own comfort and sleeping hours. What am I to say? (I must have said this a thousand times) I am truly blessed with an amazing boyfriend, thank you dear. Weekends were great cos' I could finally spend quality time with the boyfriend and replenish the mind&body of substantial sleep. We caught 'Wanted' on Friday, of which I thought is too much of an exaggeration but the plot is decent and it really doesn't hurt watching a movie starring Angelina Jolie. Yeah, you get my point. Saturday saw us sleeping most of the hours in the day and we made our way to the new house to have a look at the bed and the specially custom-made door for Casper. We're still missing the mattress, a televsion and some other miscellaneous items. Other than that, the room looks pretty fine and guess what? My brilliant boyfriend painted the room himself! Yup, I'm so proud of him cos' he did a good job! ![]() Here's the bed frame we chose after much fussing and days of searching. Very comfy, I like! ![]() A flap on the room door spells an easier access for Casper, anytime! Cute huh? Hope he likes it! - Anyways, I managed to steal a shot of my P2 student the other day when I tricked him about the changing of colours of the 'apple' trademark behind my phone. He's extremely adorable when he smiles! ![]() He's from Myanmar! Definitely one of my most diligent kid amongst all the rest of my tutees. Oh and guess what? I got myself another 2 students (which adds up to 7 in all), and this time round, tuition is to be held at the boyfriend's place every Saturday. You know, sometimes when I think about it, I really do feel that somebody up there has got everything planned out for me. And I believe that my grandfather have been looking over me all these while. I've never been able to strike a balance in my life, till today. I was almost always overdoing things (good and bad) or hovering around the grey areas. This, is perhaps the only time I've managed to strike a balance in my life and in everything I do. I'm grateful for being a part of a happy family, with very doting parents and sister; extremely fortunate to have found the man who has never stopped showering me with unconditional love; blessed with a group of close friends and schoolmates and most importantly, very grateful to the opportunities and second chances which life has bestowed me with. I'm extremely contented with my life and honestly, I never had it so good. =) - On a lighter note, tomorrow is definitely a day to look forward to cos' it's biAtch's birthday and the girlies are gonna meet up for dinner after work. It's gonna be so adorable seeing Debbie in maternity wear and touching her soon-to-be-due baby Desiree (who's still in the tummy) and of cos' this will also be the first time we'll all be meeting each other in formal wear as working adults! Oh wells, talk about getting old. Oh oh, I forgot to mention! Instead of teaching officially on the actual allocated date of 7th July, yours truly is starting tomorrow! I spent a couple of hours looking for interesting videos and stories online yesterday, hoping that my P5s will take some interest in the lesson tomorrow and give me some peace. Gees, I'm so looking forward to tomorrow! Should be fun! Will keep you guys updated! Wish me luck! =) | Tuesday, June 24, 2008 12:02 AM .: RENASCENT :. I really wanna blog about my day but I seriously am too tired to even think or keep my eyes open, cos' I was so nervous and excited, I couldn't sleep yesterday. So, I battled with the Z-monster since 5.30am, I started preparing for school, till I knocked off and made my way to Tampines for tuition, met the boyfriend for dinner and finally got home, to which I showered, planned my schedule/meeting, read through some notes and sent some emails. Yes, I've been awake for more than 30 hours and my mind have yet taken its well deserved break, so, to spare myself from the agony of staying awake and blogging, I shall just type random keywords and hopefully I'll be sane enough to post a decent entry tomorrow. Overwhelmed. Stare Stance. Innocence. Boys. Simplicity. Tiny. Freestyle. Negligence. Golf. Prayers. Right, I'll stop here and flop to my bed now. Gotta be up in 5 hours time. Nights all. | Monday, June 23, 2008 12:20 AM .: GOOD MORNING MISS LIM :. In less than 6 hours time, yours truly will be making her first appearance in school, as a Teacher. Well the truth is, I'm feeling all jittery and nervous. God knows what will happen tomorrow. I shall just keep my fingers crossed and pray hard that everything goes smoothly for the next 5 weeks before I resume my identity as a student. This is gonna be an exciting phase, don't you think? I'm gonna do some last minute checking and filling up of forms before heading to bed and forcing myself to sleep. I'm so gonna miss wuddling, cuddling and snuggling up to the boyfriend. Sigh. All the best to me and the rest of the clique! Hugs&Kisses! =) | Sunday, June 22, 2008 4:30 PM .: LOVING YOU :. ![]() I can never ever explain, the love I feel every single time our lips meet and our toes touch. I enjoy spending every minute and second of my life with you, just holding your hand and hearing your heartbeat. Life is so beautiful, because of you. I wanna grow old with you. | Monday, June 16, 2008 8:26 PM .: TOTALLY SPOILT BY THE BOYFRIEND :. ![]() I'm on cloud | Sunday, June 15, 2008 12:00 AM .: RANDOMLY INTERESTING :. Armpit sniffer gets jail and cane. SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singapore man with a penchant for sniffing women's armpits was sentenced to 14 years in jail and 18 strokes of the cane for molesting his victims, a local newspaper reported Friday. The 36-year-old, who the Straits Times said was mentally unstable, had previous convictions for drug and sex-related offences. He molested 23 women over the course of 15 months, smelling their armpits and touching them in lifts, staircase landings and their homes, the paper said. He was caught after a housewife reported him to the police. The court meted out the jail term, normally reserved for hardcore criminals, saying the man was likely to commit crimes again, the paper reported. Caning on the buttocks is an additional punishment for male criminals in Singapore for offences ranging from vandalism to illegal possession of drugs and rape. See, I told ya there are loads of weirdos in the world. Hurhurs. - THIS is the picture that will shock parents around the world. ![]() A baby born with a second penis on his BACK. He was rushed to Tianjin Childrens' Hospital on May 27 for surgery to remove his extra manhood. The rare condition, the first for Tianjin Childrens' Hospital, is called Fetus in Fetu (FIF). Doctors, who spent over three hours removing the extra penis on June 6, said he was fine following surgery. Unbelievable. | Saturday, June 14, 2008 12:08 AM .: THE DEFINITIONS OF LOVE :. A group of professionals posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?' The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. Read on.. 'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.' Rebecca, age 8 'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' Billy, age 4 'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' Karl, age 5 'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' Chrissy, age 6 'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' Terri, age 4 'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.' Danny, age 7 'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss.' Emily, age 8 'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.' Bobby, age 7 'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.' Nikka, age 6 'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.' I wasn't scared anymore.' Cindy, age 8 'My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' Clare, age 6 'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' Elaine, age 5 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.' Chris, age 7 'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' Mary Ann, age 4 'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' Lauren, age 4 'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' Karen, age 7 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.' Mark, age 6 'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.' Jessica, age 8 . . . . . . . And the final one. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry.' It's always the lil' things, isn't it? | |
